All,
The next round of usability testing is tomorrow at 11 AM in the ATTC
in Pomerene. I am sending out under direct mailing the protocols for
testing. These protocols also have on them all of the login
information for all four vendor solutions (that's why I can't just
send them to the list). If you can't make our Wednesday session,
please test these on your own and send Ken results/impressions by
Thursday at the latest. Our recommendations are due in to the
Enterprise Messaging Project by Friday at the very latest.
We tested Sun and Microsoft OWA 2007 on Monday and will be hitting
Oracle and Mirapoint tomorrow (Wednesday). I am hopeful we'll be in
the ATTC Conference Room. If not, we'll have to do it in my office
again. In either case, please come and we'll accommodate the space.
I will summarize results of tests and send them to the list by Friday.
Alexa's notes from the last full ATUG meeting are below and contain
useful initial impressions of Mirapoint:
Usability Testing Results:
1) Mirapoint
PROS:
-customizeable interface to meet user needs
CONS:
-created in frames
-no "send" button below text
-no error message or audible cue for "no recipient specified"
-no label for message input box (uncertain if there are labels at code
level or if JAWS is just reading text)
-need to know how to get out of JAWS forms mode - need additional JAWS
instructions for users
2) Microsoft Outlook Web Access Light
-were not able to thoroughly test because of access issues and
difficulties navigating Mirapoint with JAWS
-a 2007 version is coming available
3) The Sun email client should be available soon (hopefully!) for testing
Date of Next Meetings/Usability Tests:
-Monday November 27th and Wednesday November 29th, both from 11am to
12:30pm at ATTC Conference Room
TO DO:
Ken will get connectors for all applications as well as access to Outlook 2007.
Ken will ask Pete about JAWS keystrokes (can Pete make one of the next
two meetings?)
---------------
Best,
ken
