[d2l-consortium] Carmen/D2L accessibility testing in January 07

Hi Janna,

Definitely! Web 2.0 / AJAX / DHTML controls are a gray area regarding
accessibility. The problem hinges on access for screen readers and how
you inform the screen reader user that something on the page has been
updated. There are also some questions regarding users with cognitive
and mobility disabilities.

We would be very interested in testing this functionality in
Desire2Learn. By that point (January), we will have developed our own
set of protocols for accessibility testing and we will have one or
more Morae licenses for statistics.

Keep us all in the loop. I have forwarded this thread to both the
d2l-consortium list and to the atug-ask list. It will be people in
ATUG (our Accessible Technology Users Group) who will be performing
the testing here at OSU.

I'm sure that other people in the D2L Consortium will want to be
involved, as well. For OSU folks, having a Carmen look and feel would
be helpful, I think.
