Hi All,

Vinnie Young and I are presenting on captioning web video at the
Digital Media in a Social World conference, tomorrow at OSU.

We will demonstrate techniques for captioning web video for Flash
(using our just-released JW Player Controls) and show how to get
closed "subtitles" to work on iPod Touch, video iPods, and iPhone (in
addition to iTunes). We're going to be using all free software and
demonstrating (our version of) best practices for captions. If you've
ever tried to get subtitles to work in iTunes/iPod you know it is not
exactly a well-documented procedure. We'll be showing you how to do it
and how to publish with Flash for the web, from getting a transcript
through deployment.

The conference is put on by the Center for the Study and Teaching of
